Role Summary

The Internal Account Executive is responsible for supporting a set of allocated small- and medium-sized business customers, developing and maintaining long-term relationships and being accountable for the outcomes achieved within the allocated customer base. They will drive activity in order to both maximise the return from existing customers, as well as generate new business opportunities within those customers. The Internal Account Executive is also responsible for providing general sales support activities to the Mid-Market Sales Team.

Key Responsibility Areas

Lead Generation

  • Proactive contact within an allocated customer set in order to generate potential leads and new business opportunities to pass onto Account Managers to follow through
  • Qualification of leads and proactive sales support to the Account Management Team
  • Prepare customer proposals and all related support documentation
  • Prepare and process sales quotations and orders in line with new opportunities
  • Prepare customer renewal quotations for products and services
  • Ensure the completion of the administration of all product renewals and upsell opportunities

Customer Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new customers
  • Provide regular contact and ongoing support to allocated customers

Sales Support

  • Prepare and process sales quotations and orders to support the Mid-Market Team’s sales
  • Respond to and address all general sales queries on behalf of the Sales Team
  • Prepare correspondence to customers with key updates
  • Provide general support to Account Managers
  • Provide professional support to customers in the absence of their dedicated Account Manager

Sales Administration

  • Ensure the company’s CRM system is populated as required to ensure a high level of accuracy
  • Ensure that all administration is completed in a timely manner and is right first time
  • Provide administrative assistance to Sales Teams on larger bids
  • Manage and maintain the customer database of renewals

Key Competency Area

Technical Competency

  • Candidates must have direct customer facing experience ideally gained in a sales support role
  • A successful track record of supporting customers and developing and maintaining relationships
  • An understanding of the Managed Services environment is important, as is an advanced knowledge of Micorosoft Excel and knowledge of working with a CRM system and associated customer databases
  • Has a basic understanding of the business

  • Ability to build rapport with customers and to develop longer-term relationships
