This was demonstrated in 2013, when the group’s Warrington Prestige dealership was awarded ‘BMW Dealership of the Year’ after exceeding targets in nine operational areas across its business, beating off strong competition.

Having worked with Halliwell Jones for over seven years, GCI developed a great understanding of the challenges and changes in the automotive industry. The rapid ongoing developments in the industry resulted in requirements for increased bandwidth, increased resilience, and greater security for business critical applications that were used daily. Furthermore, greater bandwidth and a more robust system was required to assist Halliwell Jones with the integration into the BMW groups core servicing systems, which allow them the access to software and other necessary updates for the servicing department.
With the risks involved in changing to a new supplier eliminated due to a long-standing and reliable relationship with GCI, the BMW Halliwell Jones Group enlisted help from Account Manager Jonathon Poole to upgrade and refresh their current WAN and managed internet services to suit current and future requirements.
The existing services provided by GCI to Halliwell Jones meant that their growing business requirements were understood and their WAN enhanced with savings of over £10,000.
In order to increase resilience, WAN performance and meet demand, BMW Halliwell Jones increased bandwidth to 100mb fibre connectivity with a standard ADSL back up. The increased bandwidth improved connectivity by providing faster connection speeds and the bandwidth could support the increasing demand from users across the whole of the BMW Halliwell Jones franchise. The standard ADSL backup also provided Halliwell Jones with automatic failover, business continuity and disaster recovery meaning business critical services can remain active at all times even in the event of downtime.
BMW Halliwell Jones also communicate using GCIs state of the art Cisco routers and switches. The internet is served by a Fortigate Firewall which offers unmatched multi-threat performance and operates as an all in one security gateway with firewall, VPN, intrusion, prevention and anti-virus capabilities.
In conclusion, BMW Halliwell Jones and GCI have worked together to ensure their network evolves in unison with the automotive industry. As a result Halliwell Jones are provided with a scalable network that meets the daily requirements of the growing business with greater scope to expand.
