Leading Managed IT Services Provider GCI, today announces the sale of its Vodafone mobile base to Connect Telecom for an undisclosed sum. It is part of the finessing of GCI’s growth strategy which was re-energised in 2016 and has seen the organisation’s revenue grow by more than 50% in the period ending May 2017.

CEO Adrian Thirkill commented: “This is a very positive step for both Connect Telecom and for GCI. There are some simple drivers behind our decision. Fundamentally it’s about enabling GCI to focus its energies around what we can be really great at, and that’s all about our integrated suite of managed services – cloud, unified communications, security & compliance, network & infrastructure. That said, we absolutely see the need for effective ‘turnkey solutions’ (including endpoints) and the way this deal has been constructed by GCI’s CFO Mark Allen enables us to achieve that by partnering with Connect Telecom for the smartphone aspects where required.
