Network Capabilities
GCI Com’s core network is built and maintained with stability and resiliency in mind. We have a national underutilised 10Gb network that incorporates major Points of Presence (PoP) across the UK, unbundled exchanges in the majority of the UK’s cities and a Tier 2 carrier grade voice network to deliver a range of telecommunications services to our customers. Being carrier agnostic allows us to work with any carrier extending our national and global reach and provide our customer with unrivalled resilient network options.
To deploy and maintain the core network GCI Com heavily invested in Cisco hardware and tools, such as IP Solution Centre (ISC) and MPLS Diagnostic Expert (MDE). ISC allows us to implement and support our customer networks using industry best practise methodologies. These tools, alongside our Prince II Project Managers and ITIL support desk, provide high quality solutions for our customers’ network requirements.
Our focus on customer service has resulted in GCI Com achieving Cisco's Master Managed Services Certification with designations in Managed MPLS VPN and Managed Internet Services. This certification recognises GCI Com as having attained expertise in all phases of the Cisco® lifecycle methodology, described as "prepare, plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize." We have demonstrated our investment in ITIL based processes, practises and tools and our ability to deliver sophisticated Cisco based managed solutions to our customers.
GCI Com owns, manages and maintains best-of-breed TDM & IP telephony platforms to support advanced IVR, ASR, Mobile & VoIP solutions, in addition to partnering with BT to extend capability. GCI Com is now positioned as one of the top Tier-2 Ofcom Registered Carriers in the UK for professional TDM and VoIP telephony solutions.
