Lush appoints GCI to manage IT Infrastructure

Global cosmetics retailer Lush Cosmetics has turned to GCI and its Fully-Managed IT Support Service for 24/7 support and monitoring for its server environment. Headquartered in Poole, Dorset, Lush has been a GCI customer for close to a decade. However, this new contract deepens the relationship further and encompasses all essential maintenance, including regular server patching, antivirus and firmware updates, and the review, verification and testing of backup jobs.

Excellent uptime and security are crucial to Lush, and consequently GCI's Proactive Watchpoints were a key factor in their decision-making process. GCI's Watchpoints provide a schedule of preventative maintenance tasks designed to reduce downtime by flagging issues for resolution before they have a chance to negatively impact upon the business. Additionally, its service includes 24/7 Proactive Security Monitoring delivered in partnership with security experts AlienVault Labs. This solution delivers unique real-time threat intelligence algorithms which analyse thousands of data points. They proactively search for, identify and protect against emerging threats and vulnerabilities, updated every 30 minutes to keep systems at their ultimate level of protection.

James Mikolajewski, IT Manager at Lush, said: “We chose GCI to take on the management and maintenance of our server environment as having worked with them for so long, we know that this potentially complex task is one that they can easily undertake. With Lush continuing to grow dramatically year-on-year, we needed to be assured that our internal teams can work on developing our tactical e-commerce projects and not have to worry about the day-to-day running of our server infrastructure – it’s now in GCI'S safe hands.”

Anthony Green, Enterprise Sales Director at GCI, added: “Having drastically reduced their IT department’s workload, Lush now have a service which not only allows their IT teams to be able to work more strategically, but also proactively monitors their server infrastructure to check for issues that could lead to downtime, something that any company can ill-afford.”
