GCI has announced today that they have pledged sponsorship and support to Crescent Racing for a tenth consecutive year.
Leading Converged ICT Service Provider GCI has been the technology partner and sponsor of Crescent Racing for a decade, and has seen the team go from strength to strength; from the British Superbike Championships and MotoGP to the world-renowned Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team they are today. Over the years, GCI has provided Crescent Racing with a number of Managed IT Services, which include track-side communications, servers, cabling, telephony and hardware, with Cloud services based in GCI’s own highly-secure, private datacentre.
Most recently, Microsoft specialist GCI recommended Skype for Business to allow the team to keep in touch on race days, while they are on the move and back at their headquarters. It allows the team to collaborate more effectively with features such as instant messaging, voice over IP, video conferencing and desktop sharing, all integrated with the Microsoft suite of apps to streamline communications. With long-term Microsoft Gold partner GCI having deployed hundreds of thousands Skype for Business seats across a vast number of sectors, and due to the strength of the relationship, Crescent Racing trusted GCI to provide the solution that was right for them.
Paul Denning, Team Principal at Crescent Racing, Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team, said: “It has been a pleasure to work together to promote the brand and to integrate clients within this dynamic sport, but more importantly we have been provided with cutting-edge technology and communication platforms that have enabled us to work seamlessly, whether we are in Asia, America, Europe or indeed at our Dorset HQ.
“Professional motorsport does not allow for any “downtime”, and GCI’s 24/7 support services, staff training and IT recommendations have allowed us to focus on the priorities and on sharing data, reports and design files from the race tracks of the world to Yamaha EU and Yamaha Japan. From the team’s IT hardware to its mobile comms requirements, GCI has efficient solutions that keep us on track. We look forward to sharing the Winner’s Circle with GCI in 2018 and to the next ten years!”
Adrian Thirkill, CEO at GCI, added: “We’re proud to deliver our services to such a fantastic team, and it’s great to see that our solutions really make a difference to them. We also know how important communication is to the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team, and offering Microsoft Skype for Business as a Managed Service means that GCI will be on-hand 24/7 so Crescent Racing can carry on doing what they do best – racing.”
