Transforming UK Parliament with Skype for Business

Case Study

Paramount to enabling the UK Government to better serve and protect citizens and build a more secure, productive nation, the Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) works with the House of Commons, the House of Lords and Parliament staff for the entirety of their IT and digital needs. With big ambitions to drive a digital future across the government, GCI share PDS’ vision of bringing together the public, Parliament Members, and Parliamentary staff to inform, engage, support and communicate through one, unified digital core.

This ambitious transformation journey that PDS embarked on included a Cloud-first strategy with Unified Communications at its heart. Skype for Business is enabling over 8000 staff at Westminster and Constituencies offices, including the Houses of Parliament to be more productive, mobile and innovative – ultimately helping the government on its mission to build economic growth, broaden social inclusion, promote environmental sustainability and improve government services.

In this video, Tracey Jessup, Director of the Parliamentary Digital Service discusses the ongoing move to Unified Communications for Westminster and its Constituencies, key to ensuring a successful transition is winning the hearts and minds of all key stakeholders and end users.
